Pam A.

I am a 68 year old paraplegic who recently moved  from my brother and sister-in-law’s home to an independent living facility. I desperately needed someone to understand my unique needs and develop a two step organizational plan aimed at streamlining my existing clutter and creating an organized environment in my new home.

I found the perfect partner to tackle those goals in Organizing For Ease, founded by Ms. Rebecca Guyot. Rebecca’s professional expertise and holistic approach to understanding me and my organizational goals was invaluable. She developed a sound strategy to sift through my existing files, clothing and miscellaneous items and implemented a plan that simplified my life immeasurably.

Rebecca took the time to listen and understand my specific goals and then got to work prioritizing  my “must haves” and removed unnecessary waste prior to my move. Rebecca’s skills in decluttering my decades of  accumulated things turned my chaos into a welcome sense of calm.

After my move, Rebecca quickly assessed my new living space and developed a separate plan that prioritized my needs to easily retrieve whatever I needed. She  recommended the best space saving solutions that were affordable and ideal for my space.

Rebecca’s unique approach to first understanding me as a person and my specific needs was essential to the overall successful organizational recommendations she made.  I was impressed by her uncanny ability to quickly assess the work that needed to be done, while continuing to communicate her recommendations with me throughout the process. Her unique “team” approach made a huge difference in reassuring me that we were working collaboratively towards accomplishing the same goals in a timely manner.

I highly recommend Rebecca to anyone that is in need of a person that wants to understand you and your objectives and works with you to accomplish your goals in a highly cost efficient and timely manner.

"My room was a real problem for me because it's a multi-purpose room. I use it for work, yoga, meditation, language learning and art. Not to mention I have a lot of books! All of that needed to fit into one room with enough space to move around and not be cramped. The art section was the most egregious because it was unorganized and jumbled together. I didn't really have any idea of how it would go together. The closet had stuff just thrown in that didn't really fit anywhere else. The bookshelves were overflowing and books ended up dumped on the floor. Trying to organize it all was basically too much of a daunting task which resulted in just shuffling stacks of stuff around from time to time to "make room".

Rebecca suggested we start by putting  all the related things into categories such as art, yoga or French, making stacks as we went along. Had this just been me I would have given up at this point because it was all just "too much stuff". But that's where Rebecca's magic came in and somehow she transformed all of that "stuff" into a space that I can actually use and everything has its place. I don't really understand exactly how she did it but little by little it began to take form and it truly is a fantastic place to use now!"

"After my wife died, I asked Rebecca to help me go through my wife’s affairs. This included disposing of her clothes by arranging for these to be given to charity. More difficult was organizing all the financial records because she had been managing the house. Rebecca set up a filing system that has proved to be quite helpful to me today as I receive bills and then can file them for tax purposes. Even more difficult was going through my wife’s papers and deciding what should be kept. Rebecca’s sensitivity helped me a great deal through what was a very difficult period.

Seeing how much work it was to handle the affairs of my wife, I decided I would practice the Swedish Art of Death Cleaning and I asked Rebecca to help me dispose of many of my clothes and to organize my affairs. We went through the house room by room and tried to eliminate as much as possible. This included organizing several desks as well as various piles found underneath beds. This effort now will make it much easier for my children when I die"
