Why Organize Your Home

  • Organizing saves you time, energy and money. When you take the time to organize, you create a clear place for all your items. It saves you time because you know right away where things belong. It saves you energy by making it a lot easier to find what you are looking for. It saves you money because you can see what you already have and therefore avoid overbuying items you already own.

  • Organizing boosts self confidence. When you put your energy to good use (like organizing our home) the finished task gives you a sense of achievement. You see the results of all your hard work and feel proud for what you have accomplished.

  • Organizing promotes giving. Organizing is a great time to sort through your things and donate any items you no longer need. Being charitable to others is a great feeling.

 Questions

  • Will I need to be there while you are working? Many of these jobs will require your input with the sorting stage regarding what to keep, donate or trash. Once items have been sorted I am happy to complete the organizing stage on my own if that is what you prefer.

  • How long will the job take? That will depend on the project. Once we have our initial consultation I will have a better idea of the estimated time frame for the job.

Concerns

  • I am overwhelmed and don't know where to start. This is where I come in to help. When we have our consultation I will give you my suggestions and recommendations. Together we will agree on a game plan that you are comfortable with.

  • I am embarrassed about an outsider seeing my home in the state it's in. I offer nonjudgmental organizing. Remember, I live in a house with 3 humans and 9 animals. If you don't judge me on my menagerie, I won't judge you on your clutter.

  • I don't want to be told I have to get rid of everything. My daughter has 3 BIG storage bins full of stuffed animals from her youth that she cannot part with. I understand that possessions are meaningful to people for many different reasons. The goal is not to make you relinquish items that are important to you. The goal is to help you sort through your items to see what you are comfortable donating or selling. We will reorganize and make room for all that you wish to keep. I am good at maximizing spaces.

Tips

  • Before our consultation, think about what your needs are for the area you would like me to work on, and write down any questions or concerns you would like me to address.

  • Do not buy any organizational tools until after we meet. I will try to reuse any existing storage containers before we decide if other purchases are needed.
